Methodology

Methodology

A structured process for producing evidence that decision makers can actually use.

Our approach

From institutional problem to usable recommendation

TEVL’s methodology is designed to connect rigorous evidence with practical decision making. We begin by clarifying the institutional problem, then select appropriate research designs, data sources, analytical methods, and validation processes to produce recommendations that are both technically credible and operationally useful.

Process

Seven stages, one standard of rigour

  1. 1

    Problem Framing

We define the decision to be informed, the stakeholders involved, and what evidence would change the outcome.

  2. 2

    Research Design

We select designs proportionate to the question — from rapid reviews to full mixed-methods studies.

  3. 3

    Data Strategy

We identify existing data, plan new collection where needed, and set quality and ethics standards.

  4. 4

    Analysis

We apply quantitative and qualitative methods suited to the question, documented and reproducible.

  5. 5

    Stakeholder Validation

We test emerging findings with the people who know the context best.

  6. 6

    Recommendations

We translate findings into prioritised, feasible options with clear trade-offs.

  7. 7

    Reporting & Implementation Support

We deliver clear reports and stay available to support uptake.
